Pantone’s 2017 Colour Forecast & Colour of the Year

by Creative Style Interiors

Every year we wait with baited breath for Pantone to announce the colours that we will be seeing in design for the next 12 months. This year’s collection is a very interesting mix of colours with some very bold hues and two quite muted ones.

Interestingly, on our computer screens the colours for 2017 look curiously similar to the colours for 2016, but with a few minor variations… Do you see the similarities?

We’ve gathered some images to show how a little (or a lot) of each of Pantone’s colours for 2017 can work within a room’s décor. If you have a favourite, we’d love to hear about it in the comments below!

The Pantone 2017 Colour of the Year

Pantone have described their 2017 Colour of the Year as ‘A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.’ There’s a strong connection between this shade of green and nature, and is a colour we see in abundance in the natural world.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

We think this colour will be fabulous for decorative accessories and feature pieces within the home… an excellent accent colour!
